TACE Supporting Future Talent Through Education and Work Experience

TACE has been working closely with local educators, schools, and clients to help young people explore career opportunities and gain valuable insight into engineering and the built environment.

As part of our ongoing social value commitment, we have been building strong relationships with local schools and educators to help bridge the gap between education and employment. By sharing our knowledge, experiences, and career journeys, we hope to help young people feel more informed and confident about the opportunities and pathways available to them.

Our team has attended careers events at Laurus Ryecroft and Laurus Cheadle Hulme High School, speaking directly with students about the wide range of career opportunities available within engineering and the wider built environment.

These events give young people the opportunity to ask questions, explore different routes into the industry and hear directly from professionals about their roles and career journeys. From apprenticeships and further education to university pathways and work experience, we want young people to understand that there is no single route into the industry and that there are many different opportunities available to them.

We also had the opportunity to attend a careers event at Bramhall High School, where TACE is currently involved in the redevelopment of the school.

Attending alongside ESP, we were able to introduce students to the different areas of expertise across the wider Contollo group and show how a variety of disciplines work together to deliver projects within the built environment.

There was something particularly meaningful about speaking to students about careers in the industry while being involved in the redevelopment of their own school. It gave us the opportunity to connect the work taking place around them with real people, real careers and the different skills and disciplines required to bring a project to life.

Alongside our career’s engagement, we have also been working closely with Wilmslow High School to provide meaningful work experience opportunities. This year, TACE welcomed two students for work experience placements, giving them the chance to spend time in a professional working environment and gain first-hand insight into the industry.

Throughout their placements, the students spent time with different members of the TACE team, explored a variety of roles within the business and gained a better understanding of how different disciplines work together to successfully deliver projects.

For TACE, work experience is about more than simply spending time in an office. It is about giving young people the opportunity to ask questions, meet new people, build confidence, and develop valuable workplace skills. Most importantly, we want students to leave with a better understanding of the opportunities available to them and a positive experience of the industry.

By continuing to work collaboratively with local educators, schools, clients and project partners, we hope to create more opportunities for young people and strengthen the connection between education and industry.

We are proud of the relationships we are building within our local communities and look forward to continuing to support the next generation through careers engagement, work experience and meaningful collaboration.
