Fit-out of a new surgery incorporating state-of-the-art sustainability features.
The scheme involved the fit-out of a new surgery covering 9,700 sq ft, incorporating full M&E design to achieve a BREEAM ‘Very Good’ rating. The scheme is located in the centre of Epsom on the ground and first floors of a residential development with restricted services access and limited plant space.
Our consulting duties included working closely with the client and design teams, liaising with utility companies, and creating the detailed design and specification of the building’s M&E services. We also prepared the Building Regulation Part L compliance calculation, managed the building services contractors on-site, and oversaw the final handover and commissioning.
A number of sustainability measures were implemented as an integral part of our work on the project. These included high-efficiency heat recovery VRF systems, water saving via PIR-activated solenoid valves and water metering, LED lighting through with PIR and absence detection controls, and individual zone controls.
