Sustainable, high-quality homes using renewable technology for energy efficiency.
Bolt Works will provide 122 high-quality, energy-efficient homes for private rent in the town centre of Halifax. The project is a mix of one- and two-bed apartments with bike storage and electric vehicle charging points.
The development represents Placefirst’s most sustainable endeavour to date, with an approach centred around the ‘fabric-first’ principle to improve thermal performance. In addition, the project will implement renewable technologies such as photovoltaic panels, air source heat pumps, mechanical ventilation with heat recovery, and wastewater heat recovery. These will all help ensure optimal comfort and efficiency for future residents.
We led the project from concept design to tender and undertook a technical role post-tender on behalf of Placefirst, which involved checking compliance and witness testing.
