An extension and refurbishment project to create a sustainable and low-carbon leisure centre.
Abacus has been involved with the Brough Park Leisure Centre project since its inception, providing ongoing support to the client and delivery team throughout all stages of design development.
The project comprises the extension and refurbishment of the existing leisure centre, including a new 25-metre, six-lane swimming pool, learner pool, changing village, reception and café areas, gym, studios, Innerva Suite, and associated external works. The scheme has been designed to meet the needs and aspirations of the local area and key stakeholders.
The project was funded by the Levelling Up Fund, Sport England and Salix. The Salix funding enabled the client to incorporate measures to reduce carbon emissions.
Abacus have supported the client team in securing successful funding bids for decarbonisation initiatives with the aim of delivering a sustainable, energy-efficient and low-carbon building.
