Development of a multi-temperature customer fulfilment centre.
We were appointed by Ocado to act as consultant for the new multi-temperature customer fulfilment centre at the Birch Coppice Business Park in Dordon, performing enhanced design and monitoring for the mechanical and electrical, sprinkler, refrigeration and insulated structures installations. The five-storey facility, which features the latest Ocado IT systems and technology, covers 1 million sq ft and is capable of satisfying 170,000 orders per week.
The project was executed on a shell and fit-out basis, with MBA involved from concept to completion to ensure that all the building services requirements were fully integrated with the high technology automation systems. These included conveyors, MASSOPS, mini-load and high bay cranes together with an ASRS system.
Our compliance team were also responsible for monitoring and checking the quality of works on site, along with the commissioning and testing of services to ensure the building’s functionality met the required design parameters.
