A fast-track strip-out and refurbishment in central London.
Dr. Martens is probably the world’s best-known boot and shoe brand, particularly renowned for its iconic workwear-style boots. As part of our ongoing relationship with the company, we were engaged to provide the complete M&E consultancy for their new EMEA HQ office space in Camden, London.
The project comprised strip-out and refurbishment of an existing building to create new office space, including boardroom, town hall space, breakout areas and meeting rooms.
Initially, we worked with the concept designers, then the contractors, through a negotiated contract to produce detailed designs for the project’s M&E services. These included adaptation and relocation of existing services, along with new services such as heating and cooling, heat recovery ventilation, hot and cold water services, LED lighting with daylight dimming, power systems, fire alarm system, and ancillary services.
There were strong cost challenges and time pressures due to the short design and delivery deadlines. However, the project was successfully delivered on time and within budget.
