A highly sustainable crematorium involving technology optimisation and environmental requirements.
Located in the peaceful open countryside of North Yorkshire, this project is an environmentally friendly crematorium utilising electric cremators, heat recovery, and sustainable landscaping, engineering and construction solutions to reduce carbon emissions and optimise energy use.
The project comprises a main crematorium building with chapel, ancillary areas, memorial garden and surrounding landscaped gardens. A separate function building offers facilities for family and community gatherings, including catering facilities.
The site includes electric vehicle charging, heat recovery, ventilation and heating systems, LED lighting throughout and state-of-the-art operational and control systems.
We provided strategic buildings services design and consulting from project inception through to completion, including energy and sustainability calculations, and solutions to support the project’s environmental requirements.
The project involved us working alongside dynamic client and consulting teams, and sharing best practice with the cremator specialist to optimise technology in the design and installation solutions.
