The UK’s first purpose-built environmentally-friendly crematorium using electric cremators, heat recovery and sustainable landscaping.
The project comprises a main crematorium building with a chapel, ancillary areas, a memorial garden and surrounding beautifully landscaped gardens and cemetery. A separate administration building offers facilities for family and community gatherings, including catering facilities.
Engineering and construction solutions were implemented to reduce carbon emissions and optimise energy use, including using the heat recovered from the cremators to heat the adjacent glasshouse.
The site features electric vehicle charging, heat recovery ventilation and heating systems, LED lighting throughout, and state-of-the-art operational and control systems.
