ASDA’s first to use single envelope technology.
We were appointed to create a number of designs associated with the construction of a multi-temperature food distribution facility with internal temperatures ranging from -25°C to +13°C. The building was the first multi-temperature distribution centre developed by ASDA to use single envelope technology – we were selected due to our extensive experience in this form of construction.
The facility included numerous direct dock loading facilities from the freezer chamber that required unique door design solutions and humidity control.
Special attention and structure detailing were vital to ensure that thermal breaks and penetrations at complex panel joint interfaces were designed to prevent tracking and the formation of condensation.
