An eco-friendly neighbourhood with digital innovation to support modern urban living.
A new ‘walkable neighbourhood’ known as Stockport 8 is set to transform eight acres of land next to the Stockport Viaduct. The development will deliver up to 1,200 high-quality energy-efficient homes, along with shops, offices and leisure spaces, creating a vibrant mixed-use community. Opening up public spaces around Stockport Viaduct will create opportunities to celebrate local heritage through markets, food festivals and live events.
The masterplan includes dedicated spaces for local start-ups, community facilities and extensive green areas designed to support health, wellbeing, and outdoor activity. Emphasising sustainability, the neighbourhood will feature a low-traffic layout, energy-efficient buildings, and excellent connectivity for pedestrians and cyclists. The development also incorporates accessible transport options, including car clubs and ample bike parking.
We have been involved on this project since stage 1 masterplanning and have taken the design through to tender. By working with the developer and construction partner up to Gateway 2, we will continue with the scheme and undertake a technical advisory role until completion.
