A new 650,000 sq ft three-zone distribution centre.

This project involved the design and construction of Tesco’s new regional distribution centre at Aylesford. The 650,000 sq ft comprised dedicated frozen, chilled and ambient storage zones, as well as a large rooftop solar PV array that contributes to on-site electrical demands and the scheme’s BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating.

The build involved significant Tesco enhancements to facilitate their fit-out, such as a VMU, feezer and chill zone gantries,, freezer and chill access pods, dock doors/level access, and electric HGV infrastructure. The plant configuration delivers robust temperature control, high system efficiency and reduced environmental impact.

MBA were responsible for the full mechanical and electrical building services, while KAM provided project management, cost management, and employer’s agent services.
