The Post Building, Holborn
Client type Financial

Completed by
An intricate transformation of a sorting office into an innovative, human-centric, and tech-led office space in central London.
This project comprised a 91,000 sq ft Cat B fit-out of a developer shell for Nationwide Building Society within the iconic Post Building in Holborn.
The former Royal Mail sorting office was transformed into a collaborative office environment across two main floors and two mezzanine levels, incorporating a 250-capacity town hall auditorium, catering facilities, focus rooms, meeting rooms, and flexible office space.
ESP provided strategic technical advice to Nationwide in the concept design, and prepared mechanical and electrical services, employer’s requirements, and proposed design solutions. We also provided technical oversight of the tender process, the contractor’s detailed design, installation and commissioning.
Additionally, ESP developed design proposals for standby power generation and managed a range of strict requirements and permissions from the local authority, planning bodies, landlords, third parties and environmental agencies.
The project also included the provision of a Nationwide retail branch on the ground floor where ESP provided design and consulting duties from inception to completion.
